Ticks parasitising humans and collected by app-users, results 2017/2018
The tick species Ixodes ricinus serves as a vector for numerous human pathogens of bacterial, viral, or protozoic origin. Our research documents the presence of pathogens in ticks parasitizing humans. This demonstrates the risk of acquiring multiple infections as a consequence of a tick bite.
